Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is designed to allow family or friends to become the client’s own primary caregiver. It is a Medicaid program that grants patients the ability to choose, evaluate, and have more control over who provides their care and how it is provided. With CDPAP, caregivers do not only provide patient care but they can also get paid while caring for their family.
